     Fingerprint Smart Card Chip

The Biogy fingerprint smart card chip provides a complete fingerprint authentication solution. It acquires, extracts, stores and matches all fingerprint information on a single chip. This facilitates system implementation and deployment by enabling a new class of biometric smart cards that can operate on any standard smart card reader. Furthermore, no fingerprint information ever leaves the Biogy fingerprint smart card chip, even during enrollment. This eliminates the many common problems of current biometric systems: privacy and legal issues; the insecurity, cost and maintenance of storing encrypted fingerprint templates on a backend database; and interoperability problems between different authentication systems.

Since fingerprint images are acquired, processed, stored and matched all on the smart card chip, the biometric data can not be compromised or stolen. Fingerprint enrollment occurs on the smart card chip; it does not require any external computing. Theft of your biometric information is the worst type of identity theft since it is immutable unlike a lost credit card where you can apply for a new one. Once your biometric prints are stolen, they are lost forever.

Biogy fingerprint authentication occurs on the smart card chip in under 1.0 seconds with an accuracy of 1 in 100,000 FAR at an FRR of less than .1% for a single stored user. Accuracy tests were obtained from fingerprint images provided by leading sensor manufacturers.
